Advice from the Masters: Ally Carter

Jun 18, 2014 | Better Writing

According to her GoodReads profile:

“Ally Carter is a writer living and working in the Midwest. She loved school so much she kept going…and going…and going…until finally she had to graduate. Now she has degrees from Oklahoma State University and Cornell University and a house and a job and other very grown-up things.”

She’s also written a few books, but she’s not a Nobel Laureate or Pulitzer Prize winner, at least not yet. I came across the following bit of her advice on GoodReads. It’s something almost every would-be author needs to hear.

“Don’t get it right, get it written.”

Remember, no book you haven’t finished will improve your reputation or your bottom line.
