Voltaire really is one of those people who “need no introduction,” but if you want to brush up on the details, click over to his bio on Wikipedia. That’s where you’ll find this

“Voltaire was a versatile writer, producing works in almost every literary form, including plays, poems, novels, essays, and historical and scientific works. He wrote more than 20,000 letters and more than 2,000 books and pamphlets.”

The sheer volume of his output makes the following bit of advice even more important.

“The secret of being a bore is to tell everything.”
