Book recommendations for business leaders: 5/26/16

May 26, 2016 | Reading Lists

Stephen King says that if you want to be a writer, there are two things you must do: read a lot and write a lot. This is about the “read a lot” part. I include reading lists and book reviews that will help you do business more effectively and write better for business.

In this post I point you to lists by Shawn Callahan, Bill Gates, and Costas Markides.

From Michael Bungay Stanier: Shawn Callahan’s Five Essential Books for Business Storytelling

“Shawn Callahan is a master at telling stories, and his new book Putting Stories to Work: Mastery Business Storytelling shows business leaders how to become better communicators using oral storytelling techniques. It provides a clear process for finding stories to tell, how to remember them, how to tell them and knowing when to refresh them.”

From Bill Gates: Your summer reading list, provided by Bill Gates

“Balmy beach days usually send readers in search of juicy, fast-paced dramas, but for Bill Gates, the summer heat is equally great for nerdy escapism. In a new blog post the philanthropist, Microsoft co-founder, and insatiable reader recommended five math and science books to enjoy in the coming months.”

From Costas Markides: 8 must read books on strategy and entrepreneurship

“LBS’ Costas Markides, supplies his best 8 books on strategy and entrepreneurship.”
