Jun 8, 2017 | Reading Lists

Stephen King says that if you want to be a writer, there are two things you must do: read a lot and write a lot. This is about the “read a lot” part. I include reading lists and book reviews that will help you do business more effectively and write better for business.

In this post, I point you to lists of new books, lists of books for leaders and entrepreneurs, and a list of books to help you do creative work. Start with Michael McKinney’s First Look: Leadership Books for June 2017

From AJ Agrawal: The Top 10 Books Every Leader Must Read

“Yes, being a leader requires a large drive to learn, which is why I’ve compiled a list of some of the best books on leadership. Check them out below:”

From Nicholas Cole: 11 Books Every Entrepreneur Needs to Read in 2017

“If you’re an entrepreneur, or even have the slightest interest in becoming an entrepreneur, then you have to read. I know some people in the business like to proclaim their negligence toward reading, or claim they can learn the same lessons from videos, podcasts, and even life experience.”

From Michael Bungay Stanier: Mark McGuinness’ Five Essential Books for Creative Work Habits

“Mark McGuinness is a trained psychotherapist, a poet and a coach. For the last 20 years, Mark has dedicated himself to coaching ambitious creative professionals in fulfilling their potential — creatively, personally, professionally and financially. He’s also the author of Productivity for Creative People, a practical guide to getting creative work done amid the demands and distractions of 21st-century life. Today he is my guest blogger, sharing his favourite books to help you develop creative work habits.”
