Blogs I Like: Ann Bares’ Compensation Force

Dec 23, 2011 | Better Blogging

You can learn a lot from a good example. This week, we’ll look at Ann Bares’ Compensation Force.

There are quite a few specialty blogs out there, blogs devoted to a particular area of business. The good ones are read avidly by other specialists, but not so much by the rest of us. Ann Bares’ Compensation Force is an exception.

Ann is a compensation consultant and some of her posts are on topics that only a compensation consultant could love. But many other posts view business through the eyes of an experienced compensation consultant. Sometimes those posts help the rest of us understand what a compensation consultant does. Because Ann understands what drives business managers, those are very helpful posts, indeed.

But the posts that really set Compensation Force apart are the ones that give us a view of business through the lens of compensation. That’s the true magic trick, to see business through someone else’s eyes so that you understand business better and more completely.

Here are some representative posts from the last year or so. Read them with an eye toward what you can learn from Ann’s example.
