Stephen King says that if you want to be a writer, there are two things you must do: read a lot and write a lot. This is about the “read a lot” part. I include reading lists and book reviews that will help you do business more effectively and write better for business.
In this post I’m only pointing you to one reading list, but it’s a doozy. The US Marine Corps Commandant’s Reading List was established by General Al Gray in 1988. The list has been revised and updated by every Commandant since General Gray.
The current Commandant, General Robert B. Neller, just released the 2016 version. Here’s the lead paragraph from the current list.
“The books on the 2016 Commandant’s Professional Reading List were selected as most pertinent to critical thinking and professional development at each rank.”
