What Will Your Book Do for You?

Apr 16, 2025 | Writing A Book

Nothing.

That’s right, no matter how great a book you write, it won’t do a thing for you. You must do it all yourself. Here are four things you must do to reap the benefits of writing a book you can be proud of..

Write the Best Book You Can

Your book must deliver value for you and your readers. It must solve a problem or answer a question for a specific group of people, so their life or business is better afterwards. Pick a topic you’re passionate about so you’re willing to do the work and dig out the facts and stories you need.

Make the Presentation as Good as the Contents

Your book should have solid research, good stories and examples, and explicit learning points. It should be easy to read. Use simple vocabulary and simple prose. Include charts, graphics, and exercises to help readers put your ideas to work.

Promote It Till You Puke

When the writing’s done, you’re not. You need to build your reach well before you release your book. You need a strong launch and follow-up marketing.

Keep Promoting It and Developing It

Your message may be familiar to you. You may even be a little sick of it. But you need to keep working to refine the material. Create material around your book to increase your revenue streams. That’s why you need to write about a topic you’re passionate about.

Luck Happens

You’re going to have luck. You don’t know if it will be good or bad. It’s your challenge to make the most of it.

It’s simple, but it’s not easy. Write the best book you can. Promote it till you puke. Keep refining your material and developing products around the book. You’ll have some luck. Make the most of it whether it’s good or bad.
