Advice from the Masters: E. L. Doctorow

E. L. Doctorow has won many awards for his writing. His novel Ragtime, in fact, was named one of the top one hundred novels of the Twentieth Century by the Modern Library editorial board. Here’s one of his observations on the writing process.

“Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go.”
