Ernest Hemingway is my main writing hero. So I was surprised last weekend when I realized that I’ve never featured any of his wisdom among the Advice from the Masters. He’s quoted all over this site and one of my favorite posts is about the development of Hemingway’s style. The post is titled “Writing Tip: Starting fresh.”
The big challenge was deciding which piece of Hemingway wisdom to share. I finally decided on a quote from an interview with the New York Journal-American in 1961. Here it is.
“We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.”
