Great writers have a lot to teach us. I’ve already shared advice from the advertising wizard David Ogilvy’s advice on how to write. But, hey, there’s a lot more wisdom where that came from. Here is some.
“Do not … address your readers as though they were gathered together in a stadium. When people read your copy, they are alone. Pretend you are writing to each of them a letter on behalf of your client.”
What’s true for advertising copywriters is also true for blog writers and book writers. Don’t write to a crowd. Write to a single person.
